November 25, 2025 – Port Alberni, B.C – We understand that the RCMP has moved forward with enforcing the interim injunction ordered by the Supreme Court of British Columbia in favour of C̕awak ʔqin Forestry and has removed the blockaders from interfering with and blocking access to the injunction area located in the Walbran Valley.
It is unfortunate that the RCMP had to enforce the injunction; we had hoped the blockaders would comply with the Court’s order and leave peacefully. The blockaders were asked on multiple occasions to leave the blockade, including by the Pacheedaht First Nation, but refused to do so.
C̕awak ʔqin Forestry recognizes that the Walbran Valley is a place of high ecological and cultural significance.
Moving forward, C̕awak ʔqin remains committed to working with First Nations, the Province of British Columbia, local governments and all stakeholders on long-term landscape level planning that supports the responsible management of all values and resources in the area.
We look forward to resuming our operations in a timely manner so that members of the community may return to work.
